As of Sunday, the USDA says 38 percent of the state’s intended acreage has been planted, compared to the five-year average of 18 percent.

Spring wheat planting, at 60 percent done, is ahead of last year’s 16 percent, but just off the normal pace of 63 percent.

Soybean planting is 11 percent complete.

Winter wheat condition is rated 66 percent good to excellent.
