Soulje: neutral summer outlook with the potential for late-season severe wx

Brownfield Meteorologist Greg Soulje says La Nina conditions are winding down.

“That process is well underway, and I think we’re beginning to see some reflection of that in the actual weather patterns and we think it’s going to be a neutral summertime season,” he says.

He says the late growing season will likely be a different story.

“The propensity for some late season severe-related issues has been early and often in some of the Southeastern Plains, Lower Mississippi Valley, and points of the Deep South,” he says. “We think there will be a later-arriving severe weather season.”

Soulje says parts of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio could see excess soil moisture this summer.
