SOTU: Hinson says Biden didn’t address ag priorities

U.S. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson says she’s disappointed President Biden didn’t spend more time talking about agriculture during his State of the Union address.

“No mention of trade,” she said. “And, no mention of how we are going to continue to expand opportunities for those who grow and produce.”

The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield the 2023 Farm Bill wasn’t mentioned once.

“The President did not lead on his expectations for the farm bill this year,” Hinson said. “It’s a massive piece of legislation. Work has already begun on it. It’s a huge priority for Congress and for so many Americans.”

Hinson says the administration needs to do more to prioritize the ag industry.
