Solid week for corn, wheat export inspections

The USDA reports corn and wheat export inspections are ahead of the USDA’s expected respective paces for the 2016/17 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 875,049 tons, up 300,920 from the week ending September 15th and 238,787 higher than the week ending September 24th, 2015. For the 2016/17 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 9,452,515 tons, compared to 7,471,482 in 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 1,335,643 tons, 39,128 above the previous week and 525,257 more than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 4,267,096 tons, compared to 2,751,029 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 383,953 tons, down 372,073 from the week before and 157,617 lower than last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 2,291,973 tons, compared to 1,440,864 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections were 123,040 tons. That’s a decrease of 36,332 tons on the week and 213,817 on the year. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 348,579 tons, compared to 743,744 in 2015/16.
