Small grain harvest running behind normal

Minnesota’s small grain harvest is at least halfway completed.

The latest weekly crop report from USDA says spring wheat is 44 percent harvested, oats are 76 percent harvested, and nearly 50 percent of the barley crop is out.

Corn development remains behind normal with 23 percent dented.  Sixty-five percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.

For soybeans, 11 percent has reached coloring and 66 percent is called good to excellent.

Sugarbeets are rated 22 percent good and 56 percent excellent.
