Sieglers chosen as MMPA’s OYCD winners

A Thumb area dairy farming couple will represent Michigan Milk Producers Association as this year’s Outstanding Young Dairy Cooperators.

Kip and Rochelle Siegler milk 200 cows and farm 1,900 acres in Imlay City with Kip’s family.

“There are three brothers and we all work equally—there’s really no weak link on this farm,” he shares.

Siegler tells Brownfield he’s also created a YouTube channel to share his family and farm with others.

“Farmers, in general, do such a good job, but when it comes to advocating for themselves the majority of them don’t do it so that’s what kind of prompted me,” he says.

The channel, Kip Siegler Farming, has more than 26,000 subscribers and Siegler says he’d like to reach 100,000.

The couple will serve as OYDC representatives for Michigan over the next year at state and national events, advancing leadership skills and serving as advocates within the dairy industry.
