President Trump signs coronavirus relief package

A coronavirus relief package has been signed into law. The Senate passed the legislation on a 90-8 vote Wednesday afternoon, and President Trump signed it that night.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue will be submitting a report to Congress with Trump’s recommendations.

The legislation addresses food and nutrition needs, provides paid sick leave for impacted workers, and provides free testing for the coronavirus.

Senate Ag Committee Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow says the bill will expand access to healthy food for seniors, expecting mothers, children, and those working unreliable hours.

The bill faced some delays after the House passed it on Saturday.
