Senate announces dates for upcoming farm bill hearings

The Senate Ag Committee has set the dates for several 2023 Farm Bill hearings.

The first is scheduled for next Wednesday and will focus on Trade and Horticulture.  USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agriculture Affairs, Alexis Taylor, Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at USDA Jenny Lester Moffitt, and Sarah Charles, the assistant to the administrator, Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at USAID are all scheduled to appear.

Chairwoman, US Senator Debbie Stabenow, and Ranking Member, US Senator John Boozman say this will be the first of many hearings the committee has planned and are looking forward to the collaborative process to deliver a strong farm bill.

Additional hearings will be held:

February 9 – on Commodity Programs, Crop Insurance, and Credit

February 16 – Nutrition Programs

March 1 – Conservation and Forestry Programs.
