SD crop conditions worsen

South Dakota corn and soybean conditions continue to get worse. As of Sunday, 27% of corn was very poor to poor. Corn silking was at 83%, about normal.

Soybeans were 30% very poor to poor. Soybeans blooming reached 84% but setting pods is behind last year and the average at just 47%.

Spring and winter wheat harvest are ahead of last year.

Sorghum condition has gotten worse with 40 percent very poor to poor.

Eighty-four percent of pasture and range conditions are in the poor categories. Soil conditions remain very stressed from lack of moisture at more than 80% very short to short.
