Rice harvest winds down as cotton and soybean harvest pick up

Decent weather last week allowed harvest to progress across Arkansas.  Ninety-seven percent of the state’s corn crop has been harvested. 

Rice harvest is 81% complete with 99% of the crop mature.   The cotton crop is 20% harvested with 99% of bolls opening.  Soybeans harvest is 45% complete and 73% of the crop is mature.  Peanut harvest is 19% complete with 71% of the crop dug.

Pastures are rated 25% good to excellent.  Winter wheat is 22% planted with 5% emerged

Topsoil moisture is rated 61% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 57% adequate to surplus.
