Report says WOTUS wrongly being enforced

wotus ruleThe head of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee says a new report shows the EPA is already enforcing the Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule, in spite of a federal injunction on the measure’s enforcement. Senator Jim Inhofe’s committee released the report of case studies on Tuesday. He says it shows that the EPA and Corps of Engineers are, in his words, “running rogue.”

The president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Tracy Brunner, says the report shows conclusively that EPA is expanding its jurisdiction and control over private lands, eroding the agricultural exemptions in the Clean Water Act.

Chairman Inhofe is calling on 11 Democratic senators to join the efforts to reform the Clean Water Act. The Waters of the U.S. rule remains on hold in the sixth circuit court of appeals in Cincinnati.
