Registration open for Wisconsin’s Farm and Industry Short Course

The revived and relocated Farm and Industry Short Course is now accepting student registrations.

The sixteen-week program is now hosted by the University of Wisconsin River Falls after starting 138 years ago at the University of Wisconsin Madison campus.  Madison discontinued their program a year ago.

Classes begin October 30th and run through March 15th.  Enrollment for the inaugural River Falls class is limited to 24 students, and demand is expected to be high, so potential students are encouraged to apply early.  A special tuition and housing rate will be offered to students in the upcoming first year at River Falls.

Students will earn 18 to 20 transferable college credits with short course programming focused on dairy farming with an emphasis on managing cows and calves, nutrition, mastitis, milk quality, and dairy recordkeeping.  Students will live at a UW River Falls residence hall and be taught by River Falls faculty for the first eight weeks, with additional instructors from the Madison and Platteville campuses during the final eight weeks.
