Rains slow Tennessee harvest progress

Last week’s precipitation slowed harvest progress in Tennessee. 

Cotton harvest is 32 percent complete with 95 percent of bolls opening.  Soybeans are 41 percent harvested with 83 percent is dropping leaves.  Corn harvest is 86 percent complete.   

Fifty-nine percent of pastures are rated good to excellent and 41 percent of the winter wheat crop has been planted, with 22 percent emerged.

Ninety-two percent of Topsoil and 89 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
