Rabo Carbon Bank launches first US pilot
Rabo Carbon Bank recently launched its first US pilot. A group of farmers in three states completed the initial benchmarking phase of the bank’s first carbon sequestration and soil health pilot program in North America.
Cristian Barcan, Rabo AgriFinance’s sustainability officer sat down with Brownfield to talk about the Carbon Bank, what’s different about it, and how the pilot program is part of the global Rabo Carbon Bank initiative.
Barcan says they’re helping clients monetize a natural feature of their farm, the plants’ ability to capture carbon equivalents from the air, while improving their fields with healthy, nutrient-dense, biologically-enhanced, carbon-rich soils.”
