Q1 ag exports up for soybeans & dairy, down for corn & wheat

USDA says ag export numbers for the first quarter are in line with previous forecasts.

Economist Bart Kenner says ag exports from October through January are up 2.5 percent and imports are up one percent.  Soybeans saw the largest increase, up 29 percent.

“China’s playing a big part there, soybean exports to China were up 530 percent.”

Dairy product exports were up 22 percent and cotton was 12 percent higher.  However, corn exports were down 50 percent from the first quarter of 2019 and wheat was down four percent.
