Protect the Harvest is going on the offensive

Forrest Lucas founder of Protect the Harvest talks with a fairgoer at Protect the Harvest Day at the Indiana State Fair.Saturday was Protect the Harvest Day at the Indiana State Fair.  Forrest Lucas, president and CEO of Lucas Oil along with several volunteers spent the day educating fairgoers about extremist organizations that he says are working to shut down the agriculture industry.

For the last few years, Lucas says Protect the Harvest has been fighting for the agriculture industry – but they have had to be on the defensive.

That, he says, is changing.  “This is the first offensive move we’ve made,” he says.  “To come out here at the Indiana State Fair and make it Protect the Harvest Day.  People from all the different animal organizations are here to talk to people about what HSUS (the Humane Society of the United States) is trying to do (and other animal rights groups as well as a lot of the tree hugging groups). All of which are trying to get rid of us.”
