Potential for planting delays in Minnesota

Planting delays are a possibility in Minnesota.

The USDA says March snowfall was heavier than normal for most of the state and that snow cover could keep farmers out of the field unless a warmer, drier pattern emerges.

Ground frost is reportedly low and soil moisture levels have improved over the past few months.

Calving is on schedule and the USDA is reporting no major issues with livestock.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume Monday, April 3rd.
