Poeschl resigns from National FFA

The National FFA Organization’s CEO has resigned.  FFA announced Friday that Mark Poeschl has left the organization effective immediately.

Poeschl began his tenure with National FFA in August of 2016.  In a statement, Poeschl says he’s proud of what has been accomplished together but says it’s time for the next CEO of FFA to step in and make their mark.  No reason for Poeschl’s departure was given.

Poeschl has been at the helm during some unique challenges, including the change to a virtual national convention and the removal of a national officer over inappropriate social media posts.

National FFA Board Chair Dr. James Woodard says the Joint Governance Committee will chart a course to identify the next CEO of the organization.

  • My experiences with the FFA have only been as an adult seeing displays of projects at county and state fairs, which have been quite interesting to see as the FFA never was seen during my youth in the 1930 and 40’s. It was the fairs that exposed me to what was happening in the training of youth in many vocational skills which farmers used to have.
Today we see farmers in debt to mega corps who thrive on ways to create slaves to banks. One farmer mentioned he had a $200,000 combine which sat in his shed for 50 weeks out of a year.
The world will survive if enough follow the self reliance taught by FFA to avoid debt like a plague.
