Planting moves forward in Wisconsin

The USDA says warm and dry conditions allowed planting to progress last week in Wisconsin. 

Corn planting is 33 percent complete, one day ahead of last year but four days behind the five-year average. Five percent of the crop has emerged.

Soybeans are 24 percent planted, similar to last year but two days behind the normal pace.

Oats are 54 percent planted and potato planting is 62 percent complete.

Hay is rated 76 percent good to excellent and pasture condition improved to 62 percent good to excellent.
