Peterson votes against party line on HEROES Act 2.0

House Agriculture Committee chairman Collin Peterson is one of a handful of Democrats who voted “no” to the latest COVID relief package.

The long-time Minnesota Congressman says he voted against the HEROES Act 2.0 because he knew the bill was going nowhere and was a waste of time.

In a statement, Peterson pledged to keep fighting for ag provisions that he secured in the updated HEROES Act, which include the addition of direct assistance for the biofuels industry.

Peterson says Congress must focus on the issues most pressing to constituents and have a buy-in from both Democrats and Republicans who want to get relief to those who need it most.
