Perdue signals backing off of RINs cap option

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue says he’s hopeful a cap on RINs in the Renewable Fuels Standard is NOT likely. In his speech at the National Press Club on Tuesday, Perdue said the White House is trying to determine if it needs to make a decision on potential options or if Congress should.

Perdue says he’s in favor of expanding E15 year-round which would increase the availability of RINs, driving down RIN prices.

Perdue says he and EPA Administrator Pruitt sent the White House a list of RFS reform options.
