Perdue recognizes farmers on National Ag Day

Today is National Agriculture Day and US Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says this is a day to recognize the hard work of America’s farmers and ranchers and agriculture’s role in the national economy.

“Now more than ever, it is important that the American people remember that for all the food on the grocery shelves – some farmer grew it. Our farmers are resilient and during these uncertain times they are still working day in and day out to produce what is needed for our growing population.”

Perdue says the public owes the agriculture industry a great debt of gratitude for providing a safe, healthy and abundant food supply year-round and especially now, through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
