Parts availability still up in the air this harvest season

The lack of access to ag equipment parts is a top concern for farmers entering harvest.

Southeastern Missouri farmer Clint Stephens tells Brownfield parts availability seems to be an even bigger problem than last year.

“When you are needing a part and you go to pick one up or call about one, you don’t know if they are going to have it or how long it’ll be and they can’t usually tell you either.”

He says that puts a strain on their farm, especially during harvest.

“If you have a tractor go down, you generally have another one there it put in its place. But, if you have a combine go down and need a part for it, it is pretty scary if they can’t get you one right away.”

Supply chain issues, labor shortages and slow delivery times are all contributing factors.
