Ohio growers take advantage of weather

Ohio producers got a bit of a break from the rain last week.  The USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service reporters say about four-and-a-half days were suitable for field work, and many producers took advantage of that dry stretch to cut hay.

Crop conditions remain variable depending upon where you go in Ohio, and there are many reports of flood-stressed soybeans.  Some localized flooding still happened in central and southern Ohio last week.

Corn and soybeans are mostly in fair to good condition.

Many commercial fruit and vegetable crops are still being harvested.
