NFU hopes to see 2023 Farm Bill address lack of competition

National Farmers Union wants the 2023 Farm Bill to address the lack of competition in the industry.

Communications Director Ross Hettervig says NFU members are calling for a title that promotes competition in the marketplace.

“For us that means providing more transparency in markets, pushing back against some of the anticompetitive monopolistic practices going on in a lot of areas of the ag economy, and providing a better footing for small family farmers and ranchers to keep their businesses operating,” he says.

He says NFU is hopeful for a bipartisan farm bill process.
