NFU discusses priorities for ’22

The president of National Farmers Union says priorities are taking shape for 2022.

Rob Larew says there’s an emphasis on farmer members telling their stories to help bring competition back to the marketplace.

“Because whether you are a row crop farmer in Illinois or you are a cattle rancher in South Dakota or you sell fruits and vegetables locally in Pennsylvania, there is an impact to you in the marketplace and so we’re doing a lot of education and collecting these stories,” he says.

He tells Brownfield farmers must discuss issues impacting their operations because “it’s about making sure that can be translated into real and meaningful changes in the government and in the law.”

Larew says the effort will culminate at NFU’s National Convention in March.
