New leadership to head Michigan’s beef industry

Michigan’s Beef Industry Commission has new leadership as Governor Rick Snyder has announced new and returning appointments to the committee.

The board is made up of nine producers and industry representatives, and is subject to the advice of the Senate. Appointees will serve three year terms on the committee.

Newly appointed is Dave Clark of Clifford who an auctioneer and owner of Dave Clark Auctioneer Services. He will represent cattle marketers.

Reappointments include Bret Schapman of Almont, owner of Ingleside Farms which raises 4,000 steers each year. He represents cattle feeders.  Garry Wiley of Gladwin was also reappointed to represent cattle breeders.  He is owner of G and Triple J Farms, a cow/calf operation.
