New Holland introduces new all-electric tractor

CNH Industrial has launched an all-electric light utility tractor with autonomous features.  The manufacturer says the New Holland T4 Electric Power tractor debuted at their Phoenix, Arizona Tech Day Thursday, and goes into commercial production next fall.

In a statement, CNH Industrial says the four-wheel-drive T4 Electric creates up to 120 horsepower for mechanical, hydraulic, and electric implements. It has a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour, or just over 24 miles per hour, and can deliver a full day of operation after one hour on a commercially available fast charging system.

CNH Industrial says the new tractor cuts noise and operating costs by 90%, and can be synchronized with other machines and operated remotely using a smartphone app.
