Nebraska’s winter wheat crop rates mostly fair to good

Nebraska’s winter wheat crop is rated mostly fair to good.

The first weekly crop progress report shows five percent of the crop is rated excellent, 42 percent good and 42 percent fair. Eleven percent is rated poor to very poor.

The state’s topsoil moisture supplies are rated eight percent surplus, 67 percent adequate and 25 percent short to very short. Topsoil moisture supplies rated two percent surplus, 64 percent adequate and 34 percent short to very short.
