Nebraska’s crop ratings hold steady

There was very little change in Nebraska’s crop ratings this week, with corn at 74 percent, soybeans at 76 percent, and sorghum at 78 percent good to excellent.

Four percent of the corn was silking, 41 percent of soybeans were blooming and seven percent of sorghum was headed.  Four percent of soybeans were setting pods.

The winter wheat harvest stood at 16 percent complete, near the 19 percent average. Wheat rated 50 percent good to excellent.

Pasture and range conditions rated 63 percent good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 50 percent short to very short, while subsoil moisture supplies rated 39 percent short to very short.
