Nebraska fuel retailer says E15 potential is tremendous

Bosselman’s CEO Randy Gard joined President Trump on stage at the recent E15 celebration near Council Bluffs, Iowa.

A Nebraska fuel retailer says the potential for growth in E15 sales is tremendous.

Randy Gard is the COO of Grand Island-based Bosselman Enterprises, which operates 45 Pump & Pantry convenience stores in the state. Gard says they started offering E15 in 2016 and sales have climbed exponentially every year since.

“In 2017, our sales of E15 increased over 300 percent. In 2018, they went up another 225 percent,” Gard says, “and with the help of President Trump opening the door for year-round E15, our newest projections for this year show an increase of another 400 percent.”

Gard, who also serves on the Nebraska Ethanol Board, says only ten percent of convenience stories in the state currently offer E15. He says it’s a “huge market opportunity”.

“And I want to encourage retailers—don’t be afraid of it. Your customers will love it. Our customers love it. Hey, numbers don’t lie, right?”

Gard says they market E15 as “better fuel that costs less”.

  • It is fantastic to see industry leaders like Bosselman’s share their success with their e15 or unleaded 88 sales history and projections. With acceptance of year round e15 sales we should see many convenience stores making the transition to higher blends. Keep up the good work. Thanks
