Nebraska farmers out to a normal harvest pace

Harvest is advancing across Nebraska.

The latest weekly crop report from USDA says as of Sunday, seven percent of the state’s corn acres and four percent of the soybean crop has been harvested.

The normal harvest pace is five percent for both corn and soybeans.

Winter wheat planting reached 35 percent, compared to 36 percent last year and the five-year average of 37 percent.

Emergence, at five percent, is equal to normal.

The dry edible bean harvest is almost at the halfway point, and Nebraska’s sorghum crop is three percent harvested.
