Nebraska Congressman Flood pushes back on EPA’s decision to restrict atrazine

Nebraska Congressman Mike Flood says the Environmental Protection Agency did not follow science-based evidence when proposing restrictions to atrazine.

Flood tells Brownfield any restriction would negatively impact farmers and ranchers. “The new regulations would remove farmers’ ability to use atrazine products in no-till and reduce-till application, it could lead to more tillage and increase risk of erosion and soil loss and would add more expenses to farmers during a time of record energy costs.”

Flood and 94 other members of the House submitted a letter to EPA asking the agency to review its decision and convene a formal FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel to review the crop protection tool.
