NCGA says don’t ignore on-farm stress during covid-19

The National Corn Growers Association says it’s important to address and manage stress on the farm during the coronavirus pandemic.

NCGA says stress during an outbreak can include fear about personal health and the health of loved ones, changes in eating or sleeping patterns, difficulty concentrating, worsening chronic health and mental health conditions, and increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs.

Advice for coping with stress includes taking breaks from watching or reading about the pandemic, exercising, eating healthy and nutritious meals, spending time doing things you enjoy, and connecting with others.
