NCGA applauds Barbre as new RMA Administrator
Martin Barbre, new USDA RMA Administrator
The National Corn Growers Association applauds the appointment of former NCGA board president Martin Barbre as head of the USDA’s Risk Management Agency. Barbre is an Illinois grower and former president of the Illinois Corn Growers Association.
Barbre is one of four new appointees announced by Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue. The others are Ken Isley, special advisor for Dow DuPont Corteva Agriscience, as Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Administrator; Joel Baxley, real estate finance expert as Rural Housing Service (RHS) Administrator; and, Tommie Williams as Minister-Counselor for Agriculture at the U.S. Mission to the U.N. Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome.
Perdue says the new leaders will help with the USDA’s mission of improving economic conditions in rural America and finding new markets for the ag bounty farmers and ranchers produce.
