National Ag Day 50 years strong

President Biden is proclaiming March 21st as National Ag Day.

It’s the seventh year the White House has made the recognition and 50th Anniversary of the event. Biden says his administration is committed to protecting farmers and determined to advance an American ag sector that works for everyone.

The event is coordinated by the Agriculture Council of America and chair Amy Bradford with Growmark, Inc. says this year focuses on Growing a Climate for Tomorrow.

“I think it also reflects the collaborative nature of our industry and that by working together through shared values and goals, we create an environment, a climate for agriculture that is vibrant and sustainable,” she says.

Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says the strength of agricultural and rural communities supports the vitality and prosperity of the entire country while bolstering national security and a competitive edge. He, along with American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall and student essay winners are honoring the people in agriculture during an Ag Day Proclamation Celebration at the agency’s headquarters.

During this morning’s virtual event, GrowMark, CHS, Bayer, and John Deere focused on what they are doing to attract young people to the industry along with advancements in research and technology. Farmers, ranchers, and ag youth were also featured.

Numerous events are planned across the country today and online.  Join the celebrations on social media with #AgDay23.
