NAMI releases climate/sustainability goals

The North American Meat Institute has released its sustainability and climate goals that it says will be independently approved for 100% of its members.

Meat Institute President and CEO Julie Anna Potts says the framework will “drive momentum and generate technical support for meat packers and processors of all sizes” to set science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Meat Institute says it will support its members in setting reduction targes to be approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative.

The commitments are being launched through the Protein PACT which unites 12 leading ag groups.
