MOSES Organic conference to go virtual for 2021

The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service or MOSES has shifted their organic farming conference to a virtual event next February because of coronavirus concerns.

MOSES Partnership Director Tom Manley tells Brownfield that like many organizations, hosting a virtual conference is uncharted territory and they are seeking input from their partners and other groups to provide the best content possible.  “We’re going to have a combination of pre-recorded content, whatever is easier and better to deliver in that format, and then some live portions that we’re managing, some roundtable meet-ups, some farmer panel discussions. Those things of course will all, of course, be live.”

Manley says the virtual conference might help attract additional conference participants. “We are hoping that the silver lining in all of this this year is the opportunity to reach a slightly broader audience and some folks that might not be able to travel to La Crosse (WI) to be there in person, and hopefully that translates to more visitors in La Crosse in 2022 and beyond.”

Manley says they were prepared to work around space restrictions at the La Crosse Center, which is in the middle of an expansion project, but keeping the community safe from coronavirus prompted the change.

The MOSES Conference is still scheduled to begin February 25th, 2021.
