More dairy products in cold storage during April

The number of dairy products in cold storage was higher as of April 30th.

Natural cheese stocks in refrigerated warehouses were up slightly from the previous month but down 1 percent from April 30, 2022. There were 838.2 million pounds of American-style cheeses in storage last month, compared to 835.7 million pounds a year ago, and up from 826.7 million pounds in March.

Total cheese in storage was 1.463 billion pounds in April, up slightly from March and down from 1.48 billion pounds a year ago.

Butter stocks were up 6 percent from March, and up 10 percent from a year ago.  There was 327.6 million pounds in storage last month, compared to 309.4 million pounds in March, and 298.3 million pounds last April.
