Monday final application day for Wisconsin direct farmer payments

Monday, August 24th is the final day Wisconsin farmers can apply for the second round of the Wisconsin Farm Support Program.  The program is using 50-million dollars in CARES funding from the federal government to provide direct payments to farmers.  With round one complete, this second round has lower gross income requirements making more smaller operations eligible.

The remaining 8.4 million dollars in the fund will be paid on a sliding scale.  As of Thursday, there were 3,559 applications filed through the Department of Revenue’s website.
