Moisture remains persistent in Michigan

Persistent wet conditions continue to keep Michigan farmers out of fields.

USDA says less than one percent of the state is experiencing moderate drought.  Topsoil moisture is 99 percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is at 92 percent.

Winter wheat condition was reported at 39 percent good to excellent, a one percent improvement from the prior week.

Peach, tart cherry, and early apple and blueberry varieties are showing signs of budding.
