MOFB sets guidelines for 2022 priorities
Missouri Farm Bureau passed its resolution Tuesday, setting guidelines for the organization’s priorities in 2022.
Missouri Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins tells Brownfield the farm group is focused on several farmer concerns for 2022.
“Climate change, Waters of the U.S., we’ll be taking all of those things into account,” he said. “At this point in our process, now that our state work is done, we will begin the work of distilling those national priorities to carry to American Farm Bureau in the days ahead.”
Hawkins said the new year will present opportunities for Missouri farm improvements.
“Lots of new language with regard to broadband as we think about the opportunities that are ahead of us with the Parson administration’s approach,” Hawkins said. “We have new policy to, kind of, interject into those discussions and so, we’ll be doing that.”
He said improving supply chain resiliency and protecting private property rights are also focuses. Brownfield interviewed Hawkins at Missouri Farm Bureau’s 107th Annual Meeting.
