MO State Fair highlights specialty crops in the state

The manager of the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Missouri Grown program says the state fair is a great place to find new customers for specialty ag producers in the state.

Taylor Tuttle tells Brownfield the Missouri Grown market at the fair features jams, meat sticks, barbeque sauces and several other local products…

“A lot of folks enjoy coming through the market,” Tuttle said. “They look forward to that each year and buying those products.”

She said the Missouri State Fair helps the program reach its goal of connecting producers to consumers across the state.

“Even if you’re a Missouri Grown member from the northwest corner of the state, you may be reaching someone from the southeast,” she said. “So, it allows you to share your product with more folks in the state and introduce people to that product.”

Tuttle encourages fairgoers to stop by the Agriculture building and visit the Missouri Grown market.
