MO harvest makes strides

Missouri harvest made strides last week before weekend rains.

USDA says the state’s corn crop is more than 80 percent harvested, 10 percent ahead of last year.

Soybean harvest is now even with last year at 49 percent complete. Soybeans dropping leaves is behind at 93 percent. Soybean condition fell one percent to 60 percent good to excellent.

Cotton harvest made great progress and is now 23 percent ahead of last year at 53 percent complete. Cotton condition improved last week to 71 percent good.

Rice harvest is 85 percent complete and is now one percent ahead of last year.

Winter wheat planting has passed halfway complete and is 30 percent emerged.
