MO Governor proclaims it to be FFA week

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has proclaimed this week as FFA week in the state. Parson drove to work in a tractor this morning accompanied by Missouri FFA President Kaitlin Kleiboeker to celebrate National FFA Week.

He tells Brownfield FFA week shows youth in ag the respect they deserve while showcasing the industry’s importance in Missouri.

“I think when you look at this generation out here today, you’re going to see some extraordinary and some really special things that are going to happen in the upcoming years and what they’ll be part of developing,” Parson said.

Missouri FFA Vice President Abby Miller tells Brownfield the FFA week proclamation helps promote FFA and ag education…

“I grew up on a family farm,” Miller said. “But I really didn’t know exactly how to share my story. So, going in freshmen year and, kind of, learning how to public speak and learning how to talk to the public and legislators has been just absolutely amazing.”

FFA members from around the state met with state legislators to talk about ag education Wednesday afternoon.
