MO crop conditions fall slightly

Missouri crop condition fell slightly across the state under mostly warm, dry conditions.      

The USDA says corn emergence in the state progressed to 97 percent, four percent ahead of last year. Corn condition fell slightly to 56 percent good to excellent.

Soybean planting progress has reached 85 percent complete. Sixty-five percent of the crop has emerged, eight percent ahead of last year. Soybean condition also fell slightly down to 58 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat harvest is underway.

Cotton squaring reached 17 percent with the crop’s condition holding at 68 percent good.

Topsoil moisture was 81 percent adequate and 3 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture was 89 percent adequate and 5 percent surplus.
