MN FFA Foundation to host “Great Minnesota Give Together” telethon

The Minnesota FFA Foundation is hosting a telethon called “The Great Minnesota Give Together” to celebrate and support FFA programming across the state.

Foundation director Val Aarsvold tells Brownfield they will highlight students, teachers, and supporters in every region Tuesday.

“It really is neat to see the students tell the story of why they got involved. Sometimes it was their own choosing, other times they got a gentle nudge. But in any case, they’ve come into the FFA and had an experience that has helped them grow and develop.”

She says viewers will learn about various projects, and have an opportunity to support Minnesota FFA.

“Those dollars that are coming in will sponsor jackets for FFA members. (Money raised will also) make sure that people can attend the state FFA Convention, that it’s not an economic challenge to participate. It will help us as we look at the teacher shortage.”

Aarsvold says the Great Minnesota Give Together will feature special guests including Governor Walz and Minnesota Millennial Farmer Zach Johnson.

The telethon will be livestreamed on the Minnesota FFA Foundation YouTube channel between 4 and 8 o’clock Tuesday.
