MN Cattle Convention consensus: 2019 needs to end

Minnesota farmers are ready for 2019 to be over.

Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association president Mike Landuyt says this has been a tough year.

“Everybody I’ve talked to is ready for 2019 to be done. We got plenty of rain down here and there was a lot of prevent plant in my area. So everybody is ready to move on.”

The Walnut Grove crop and livestock producer tells Brownfield despite the challenges, the Association did celebrate some successes in 2019.

“Over here with all the prevent plant on the western half of the state, I think being able to harvest that so we could use it for cattle feed was a huge plus to a lot of our members.”

Landuyt says he’s also encouraged by the positive trade developments as 2019 comes to a close.
