Missouri State Fair prepares for state’s bicentennial

The 2021 Missouri State Fair is returning in full after being reduced last year due to COVID-19. Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe tells Brownfield his team is gearing up for a big year. 

“We’re pretty excited about getting to come back and having a real fair again,” Wolfe said. “Although, the youth livestock event we did last year was a lot of fun, I think our exhibitors really liked that, I’m glad that we got to do that, [but] it’s kind of a whole new game.”

Wolfe said he’s expecting fair entries to top the average mark of around 30,000. 

Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn said the fair will feature several special exhibits this year to celebrate the state’s bicentennial.  

“Our ag venture is going to focus on Missouri agriculture throughout the years,” Chinn said. “And so, I think it’s going to be a neat opportunity for people who really enjoy history.”
