Missouri Soybean Association applauds tax credit extension

The CEO of Missouri Soybeans applauds the $40 million ag tax credit package signed into law by Governor Mike Parson Wednesday.

Gary Wheeler tells Brownfield the extension of ag related tax credits through 2028 will benefit the entire state.

“The most successful value-added programs, or any economic development tool we have had in the state of Missouri, in our eyes, has come from these tax credits. We wouldn’t have the biodiesel industry; we wouldn’t have the ethanol industry, if it wasn’t for these tax credits.”

He says the biodiesel tax credit extension is especially valuable for soybean growers.

“This continues to give our farmers an avenue to sell their beans for crush, into oil, into biodiesel. It is really securing our infrastructure for biodiesel in the state of Missouri.”

The legislation is the result of a special session convened by Governor Parson on September 6th.
